I know the size of this one can be adjusted (we have something quite similar in Linux, called 'swap-space'), but DO please wait for instructions from someone more familiar with Windows I myself haven't used it for almost a decade, and I daresay modern Windows is totally different to the beast that I remember. Pagefile.sys is the file which allows Windows to start 'swapping' memory functions to the hard-drive when your OS begins to want more RAM than your machine has. ![]() I think this is somewhere between 12-15 GB, even for a fresh install.! Hyberfil.sys is connected with the OS's ability to go to sleep - to hibernate - and is, I believe, somehow linked with the size of the operating system itself, since Windows has to be able to commit a 'snapshot' of the 'running' system to your hard drive, "as-is", when you put it to sleep. I'm no Windows expert - in fact I run Linux, full-time - but I can tell you this much. ![]()
